Last night I was finally able to get back to the barn and I even rode Huey!!! Unfortunately none of my stuff really fits Houston. I have a bridle on the way but in the meantime I have been using my cheap western headstall that I bought for lunging. Luckily Houston is cute no matter what.
Houston’s theme song is definitely fat guy in a little coat… See below – it took me like 10 attempts to get my girth on him…Â Â Â After we worked in the ring for a little bit we even went for a hack. All of the mares are in heat and Annie was particularly friendly. She came trotting up to say hi. I really never thought that I would be lucky enough to have not 1 but 2 wonderful horses!
Fun updates to come this week!
Think skinny Houston! Ha! Glad you are loving having both of them around 🙂
Unfortunately the hulk doesn’t really slim down… Bigger gear is purchased haha.
Well if Ramone sells soon you can have first resale dibs on my 56″ girth
Thanks dude. For now I think I am going to buy a cheap fluffy girth.
aw he looks so happy to be home 🙂
I like to think so 🙂
Huey looks adorable. I take it you sold all things giant sized? Does Huey have to go on a diet, or does he get a big kid girth? 😀
Yeah pretty much all giant gear is no longer in my possession. I acquired a breastplate and a bridle (not here yet) but need to find a girth. In the meantime we might have to go half pad less.
A girth extender is also a good, cheap fix if you don’t find what you want right away. Yay new tack! Except in my case, it’s also a sad pocket book.

Thanks Tracy
He and Annie make a cute pair 🙂
How cool to have them both together like that. 🙂
🙂 It makes my heart pretty damn happy.
Yay Huey!!! I bet it is fantastic to have those ears in front of you again!
Yay! Welcome back to blogland Huey! I’m looking forward to reading about him again.
Welcome back buddy, I hunk I’ve missed a few updates. Shall backtrack & catch up ☺
Your horse is very handsome! 🙂
Thank you!
I have the same girth problem. Only I have no excuse seeing as how I only have the one horse.
Haha
