Unplanned

In 2019 I decided to step back from social media. I got too caught up on what content I was going to have, what it would look like if I didn’t meet my goals, and wasn’t focusing on the important part. Having fun. Horses are way too expensive to have and not enjoy as much as you can. Between moving to TX, losing Annie, and trying to start a new horse I was just super overwhelmed and needed to step back.

I can’t tell you all how much I appreciate the random messages or texts to check in! There have been a lot of changes around here but I think I am finally ready to get back at it. I’ll try to give you a little recap of June 2019 – December 2020… but not going to stress about trying to catch up in detail.

After my last post Dobby got to go on some really fun adventures. In July ‘19 we went to Coconino HT in AZ and had an amazing time with Amanda and Henry. Afterwards we had a bit of downtime before we geared up for our big KY adventure. August brought a fun trip to KY to support friends at AEC and Luna came to TX!

October was probably the most fun of all. I got to bring Dobby to KY for his first HT and then we stayed through until the Makeover. I can’t even begin to describe how awesome that experience was. I met so many cool people and Dobby gained quite the fan club! We ended up scratching from the Jumpers but finished as the 3rd place amateur and 32 of 67 overall for the eventing division. I am not in a position to take on another project but one day I definitely want to get back to the makeover.

After that things were really laid back and boring until February 2020 when we went to FL for a month. That was a super cool experience and I hope that when things calm down I will be able to go again in the coming years.

That brings us to the rest of 2020 which was pretty much spent in lock down. We didn’t really do any lessons, schooling, or adventures until the end of the year. The last big outing I took the horses on was to participate last minute in an Ashley Adam’s clinic. That was a super fun experience and definitely helped me to get some clarity on decisions that I had been waffling about for the better part of 18 months.

Now we’re starting 2021 with a fresh eye and I have some big and exciting news. Luna has a new mom and is going to move to WA! I am so excited to see what the future holds for her and am so happy that she is going to a great rider who has become a new friend.

If you made it through all of that congrats. Hold on tight for even more exciting news tomorrow with any luck!

Ooooh this makes me so excited! A week or so ago I went through my Reading List to clean it up, and removed inactive blogs. I kept yours on secretly hoping you’d be back! Dobby looks incredible!
