My name is Hillary and I am a 30 something adult amateur eventer. Mom to 1 toddler, 2 dogs, 1 cats, and 1 New Forset Dutch Warmblood cross gelding! I have been riding on and off since I was 8 years old when my parents finally caved in and gave me riding lessons for my birthday. However, I have been horse crazy as long as I can remember.
When I was 16yo I got my first horse. I sold him in January 2012 and in March of 2012 I purchased a lovely Belgian Warmblood from Bannockburn Farm. We had a lot of fun and adventures at local HJ shows as well as running beginner novice. He now lives in the Carolinas and is a hunter packer.
In early July of 2015 another star joined the show. Annie was a 2012 model Thoroughbred that I purchased off the track. I found her by pure chance and I can’t believe how lucky I got! We competed a bit in the jumper ring and eventing land. Annie was one of a kind and is sorely missed.
In addition to horses I also have an Australian Shepherd, a French Bulldog, and a recently added Sphynx cat. Along with our almost 4 year old daughter they keep us on our toes and provide non stop entertainment.
This blog typically serves no rhyme or reason but will be a place to track my riding progress, share reviews on various horse related items (tack ho in the house), and often times share random bits about our life. 🙂
