Hand Walking For Days

Move to Texas they said… It’ll be fun they said…

Wait… no one actually said that. When we officially decided to relocate to Austin I was really worried about the weather. Oppressive heat is not really my jam… also I like grass. What I didn’t anticipate was it raining so much and so often that we would be living in swamp lands all fall. On the bright side rain led to more grass… Unfortunately the ground where I keep Annie doesn’t know what to do with this much rain.

I am told that this is not normal weather for Texas but I am not sure I believe it at this point. I have lived here for a little over 6 weeks and I would say at least 4 of them it has rained enough to make the arena un rideable for at least a few days.

Take away the already limited turnout and you get one spicy ginger mare. Someday I will get to ride again. Until then I’ll just be doing a dangerous amount of online window shopping and hand walking like its my job.

We had a really wet spring and into the early summer and it made it impossible to ride. Hang in there, I’m sure Texas can’t stay wet and cold for too long!

Online window shopping? Dangerous? HA HA HA I think that may be Amanda who is dangerous influence on you instead! 🙂 Watch her she is sneaky!

When I first moved to KY, it was like 70 degrees, sunny, and breezy from October – like January… It has yet to be that nice again. Although, I am not sure I would have preferred so much rain!
